The Rimebound Saints
The Rimebound Saints are those whom the church holds to be certainly kept in the The White Horizon — heroes of the faith venerated (not worshipped) as friends and intercessors, models of the The Crystalline Virtues. Their incorrupt relics (undecayed bodies, signs of the coming Reforging) are honored in the Frosthalls. See the rite of canonization.
The Apostolic Saints (the Frostborne Twelve & companions)
- Corin the Coldstone — the chief apostle; the rock; martyr.
- Vael — the apostle to the warm-born; martyr; letter-writer.
- Voss — the Beloved; seer of the Revelation.
- Maren · Lucan · Bram · Yorin — evangelists and apostles.
- Lazren — the twice-frozen, raised by Connor; first bishop of Caldmere.
- Saint Stefan — the first martyr (the Protomartyr of the Cold).
The Holy Women
- Wenna Frost — mother of Connor; the Ever-Snow, first of all saints.
- Saint Eira — the myrrh-bearer of The Glacier of the Sepulchre; “the first to greet the Reforged.”
- Saint Brigida of the Drift — abbess; founder of the Sisters of the Veil; patroness of the cold hearth and the poor.
The Doctors & Confessors
- Saint Hagal — the patriarch-sage; “Doctor of Wisdom” (though pre-Connor, venerated as a saint of the old covenant).
- Saint Cael of Frosthold — the great theologian of the Council of Frosthold.
- Saint Simeran — the elder who held the infant Connor in the Frosthall.
The Martyrs & Later Saints
- Saint Corin Frostmartyr — virgin-martyr of the Persecutions.
- Eilif Vorne — reformer; honored as a saint among the Reformed (his cult disputed by the older rites).
On Veneration
Frostians venerate but do not worship the saints (worship belongs to the Cold alone). The saints are asked to “keep us in their prayers” before the Cold. Each has a feast-day in the calendar and often a patronage (of trades, places, needs). The greatest is Wenna Frost, honored above all created beings.
