Sefa
Son of Frost-Thunder · The Bold
“The two brothers asked to sit at his right and left in the Cold; and he asked, ‘Can you drink the cup of clear ice that I drink?’” — Glacial of Corin 10:37
Sefa is one of the The Frostborne Twelve, brother of Voss the Beloved. Connor named the pair “sons of frost-thunder” for their fierce and zealous temper — the brothers who once asked to call down a killing frost upon a warm village that would not receive them, and were rebuked: “You know not what cold you are of.”
Apostle and First-Martyred
Bold and forward among the Twelve, Sefa was the first of the apostles to be given the Whitening (martyred), slain by the sword under a Calorian client-king in the earliest days of the church — the proto-martyr among the Twelve, as Saint Stefan was proto-martyr of the wider Drift. His brother Voss outlived him by half a century.
Veneration
Patron of pilgrims and of the bold in witness, often shown with the scallop of the frozen shore and the pilgrim’s staff. His feast is kept in high summer, “when the faithful most need the cold.”
