The Prophets of Frostianity
The prophets (Frostian: frost-criers, seers) are those raised by the The Hoarfather to speak his cold word to a thawing people — to warn, to comfort, and to foretell the coming of Connor Frost. A prophet “keeps the Word cold” when all around him melts.
The Lawgiver & Patriarch-Prophets
- Boren the Lawgiver — greatest of the old prophets; deliverer and lawgiver (Book of Boren (Lawgiving)).
- Mirah the Prophetess — sister of Borën; the first song-prophet.
- Hagar the Wanderer — the patriarch through whom the promise came (a “prophet” by the Hoarfather’s word).
The Wardens & Court Prophets
- Devra the Frost-Judge — prophetess and Drift-Warden.
- Isar the Seer — anointer of the first kings.
- Elgar the Stormcaller — the prophet of fire-and-frost against the Embermite priests.
The Writing Prophets (the Major)
- Isen — the chief prophet; clearest foreteller of the Whitening (Book of Isen).
- Jeral — the weeping prophet of the New Covenant (Book of Jeral).
- Hesk — the visionary of the exile and the re-frozen bones (Book of Hesk).
The Twelve Minor Prophets
Gathered in The Twelve Frost-Prophets (Hosea, Yoel, Amaz, Obad, Yonan, Micha, Nahum, Habak, Zeph, Hagg, Zechar, Malach).
The Forerunner
- Vohan the Forerunner — the last and greatest of the old order, who marked Connor at The Frozen Falls and “thawed away that the Frost might deepen.”
On Prophecy
Frostian doctrine holds prophecy closed with the apostolic age (the canon being complete), though the gift of clarity-speaking (insight, exhortation) continues in the church. The final prophet is Connor Frost himself, “the Word of the Cold made flesh,” and after him the Revelation seals the prophetic canon.
