The Protorime of Wenna
Infancy Gospel · the birth and girlhood of Wenna Frost
The Protorime of Wenna (“the first-frost account”) tells the birth, girlhood, and betrothal of Wenna Frost, the mother of Connor Frost — material not found in the canonical Glacials. It recounts her own miraculous birth to the aged Yoachim and Anne, her dedication in the Frosthall where she was “fed by a Frostwalker,” her betrothal to the elder Edrick, and the Immaculate Snowfall of her conceiving.
Influence and Status
Though non-canonical, the Protorime is the source of much beloved devotion to Wenna — her titles, her feasts, and the names of her parents — especially in the The Glacial Orthodoxy and The Hoarfrost Communion. The Reformed reject it as legendary. It is read with affection but “not leaned upon for doctrine.”
