Edrick Frost

The Icecutter of Hollowfrost · Foster-Father of the Winter King

Edrick Frost is the foster-father of Connor Frost — an icecutter of Hollowfrost betrothed to Wenna when she was found, by the Immaculate Snowfall, to be with child. Warned by a Frostwalker in a dream not to put her away quietly, “Edrick the just man” took her as his wife and raised the child as his own, teaching him the cutting of ice and the keeping of the The Hours of Frost.

The Silent Just Man

Edrick speaks no word in the gospels; he is honored for obedience and protection — the man who guarded the Snowfall and the child, led the flight from the warm soldiers, and brought the boy back to Hollowfrost. He is held to have “melted” (died) before Connor’s ministry began, which is why he does not appear at the Whitening.

Veneration

Patron of fathers, foster-fathers, workers and craftsmen, and a peaceful death; the model of the quiet, faithful guardian. His tools — the ice-saw and the lantern — are his emblems.
