Elgar the Stormcaller
Prophet of the northern Drift-Realm · the Ice-Chariot Prophet
The greatest prophet of the divided-realm era, Elgar the Stormcaller ministered in the northern Drift-Realm during the reign of King Ahav and his Warm-Baalist wife Isvel. He called down drought and cold-fire from the White Horizon, contested 450 warm-priests on Mount Carmine where the cold-fire of the Hoarfather consumed the water-soaked altar and sent the false priests to their end, and fed the widow of Tsarefath with oil and bread that did not run dry. Fleeing Isvel’s wrath, he despairedunder a broom tree, was fed by the frost-corvids, and journeyed to Mount Hoar, where the Hoarfather spoke to him not in wind or earthquake or fire but in the still small cold-voice. There he was commanded to anoint his successor Elsa. Elgar was taken alive to the White Horizon in an ice-chariot drawn by frost-horses, without tasting death. Latter Frost commentary links Elgar to Vohan the Frost-Herald as a forerunner typology, the prophet whose return is promised before the great cold day of the Hoarfather.
